About the Author

Georgia Ray is a writer of local history and biography. A graduate of Wellesley College, she served in the 1970s as executive director of Minnesota Landmarks, the public foundation that saved the Old Federal Courts Building (now the Landmark Center). As a writer, her work has appeared in such publications as Minnesota History, Ramsey County History, Hennepin County History, and Downtowner.

She has published two articles on Flandrau—"Saving Grace" (Mlps St. Paul, February 1998) and "In Search of the Real Grace Flandrau (Minnesota History, Summer 1999). She edited Memoirs of Grace Flandrau, published by Knochaloe Beg Press in 2003.
